FAITH GOES BEFORE IT KNOWS
Hebrews 11:8
Galatians 3:7 (NIV)
Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. So those who have
faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
Hebrews 11:8 (NIV)
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his
inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
Genesis 12:1 (NIV)
The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's
household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I
will bless you; I will make 2 your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless
those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will
be blessed through you." So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with
him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife
Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they
had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.
Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at
Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The LORD appeared to Abram
and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD,
who had appeared to him.
1. LEAVE - Your best for His better
Genesis 12:1 (NIV)
The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's
household and go to the land I will show you.”
● God was calling him to first and foremost to a spiritual journey
● When God asks us to do something He always starts with the easier
and moves to the harder.
Hebrews 11:8 (NIV)

● A calling is a divinely ordained reason for being
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do
the good things he planned for us long ago.

household and go to the land I will show you. (He doesn’t say where that land is...) "I
will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and
you will be a blessing.

● The longer you wait to obey the voice of God in your life, the less
likely you are to act on it.
2. CLEAVE - To the Promises of God
To Cleave is to stick firmly to, to adhere, or to be deeply attached
Promise #1, I’ll make you into a great nation.
Promise #2, I’ll bless you.
Promise #3, I will make your name great.
Promise #4, you will be a blessing.
Promise #5, I will bless those who bless you.
Promise #6, whoever curses you, I will curse.
Promise #7, all people on earth will be blessed through you.
Promise #8, to your offspring, I will give this land.
3. RECEIVE - Strength as you Worship
Romans 4:20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but
was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
